Meet Mariella...

Hands down, the best thing about working at Bakehouse Cafe is the people we work with. And once you've tried our amazing food (ahem chocolate parfait), you'll get a taste of how amazing the team actually is.


Meet Mariella - our smiley, happy, wonder woman who is a joy to work with. Over the years, her role has grown and shifted as her life stages and family has done the same.


Once starting with us as a retail employee, she quickly worked her way up to managing our Avoca store. She took some time off for maternity leave, and has come back to a work schedule that ties in with her family life neatly and allows her to be both working, and a mumma at home for her cutie-pie son.

What is your most used emoji ...It's a tie between love heart eyes and laughing tear face. I use both a lot.

If you had to eat one thing for every meal from now on, what would you eat? ...Definitely Pasta. I looove any kind of Italian food!

What’s one thing about you that surprises people? ...I am really into Englands Monarch History. It is an obsession really. Especially about King Henry and his 7 wife's. I read so many Books about the topic I could give lectures.

Whats your family life like? ...It is very chaotic but always fun. My two year old son is keeping us on our toes and with another one on the way. I am ready to embrace the crazy! I don't see much of my family most of the year but it makes reunions a lot more fun and intense. My family is big on love (and big on drama) so it's never boring.

What Bakehouse Cafe stores do you mainly work at? ... I've worked at most of them over the years, starting off at Fountain Plaza back in the day, then moving to Avoca before having kids. Now I'm in our kitchen on Barralong Road in Erina.

How long have you worked at Bakehouse Cafe? ...I've had time off while on Maternity leave, but 5-6 years now.

Q: Whats your funniest work memory? ...there has been so many fun moments in the last few years. But one that stands out was when a baby Rabbit managed to get into the kitchen and Shania and I had to catch it.

Q: Whats the best thing about working at Bakehouse Cafe? ...I love all my coworkers and it's been amazing to meet so many interesting and lovely people that make everyday so special. I also love our management team, and of course the amazing products our bakers and pastry chefs produce everyday.
